In what some would consider to be a savvy business decision to move some units, Marv has started to upload sections from his latest video Standard Procedure to Vimeo. The first to be upload is the under 10 second intro and BMX publishing mogul Daniel Benson from The Albion’s (now that’s paper) section.

Benson has killed it for ages. He wasn’t been the in the spot light as much as everyone else from Voices has but he’s still been putting in work and seems like he should have at least another full section in him.

Check his part out below and come back next week for a three way split section from some absolute legends (one of whom has a freecoaster……).

CRAIG PASSERO’S NEW BAND

Craig has started a new Dave Matthews cover band which after a long brainstorming process he has decided to call Craig Passero Band. He played a set at Shakespeare’s the other night and I can’t wait to see and hear more from this exciting new group.

Mike Warner’s a good friend of ours from Picton, Ontario. He and his homies put together a Facebook group called “Ontario BMX” to try and unite the province and its riders. JOIN THE GROUP to keep up with what’s going on in the region.

This is going to be a good one! Eoin Sheil has been working on this video for a couple years now over in Ireland and it’s finally going to be ready at the end of the month. There have been a couple teasers here and there over the past year but this is the official trailer for his project entitled “Raincheck”.

This is going to be an all street video filmed around Dublin, with a few clips from Fu-Ville in the mix from a couple of summers ago when he came through for a couple days during a trip to Ontario.

This day was awesome. Weather started out kind of shitty but as the day went on, more people kept showing up and things got poppin. Matt Drew and Bobs Hill were behind the camera most of the day clipping everything people were throwing down. Thanks to Tenpack, Ryder and Mike at Twisted Sticker for all the help.

BARCEROMA

In January Teddy Lewis, Rob Loeber, and I booked our flights for a 10 day vacation to Barcelona to ride bikes and drink sangria. Everything was going perfectly smooth until about 15 minutes before we were meant to board the plane there. Our flight had been cancelled because air traffic controllers in France had gone on strike. We soon found out there were no more flights available to anywhere in Spain until nearly a week later but luckily the girl at the desk was super helpful and after a lot of searching, we found ourselves on a flight to Rome, Italy the next morning.

The first day riding around the city was pretty disheartening. We rode for a few hours and didn’t find a single thing to ride. All of the buildings in the city centre have massive gates outside of them that go directly up to the sidewalk. Back at the hostel we did some Internet research and found a skatepark online. We figured that maybe there would be some riders there so we conned our way onto the Metro and out into the suburbs.

It was one of the best decisions of the trip. There were no riders there but the park was incredibly fun and we quickly discovered that all of the spots were going to be hidden outside of the city. Everyday after coffee and wifi we headed out in a new direction and everyday we found something that had never been riden before and a new joint to grab a slice from.

While Barcelona would have been amazing, I have to say that our surprise adventure ended up being an incredible success. It’s hard for things to go wrong when your holiday consists of BMX, pizza, coffee, pizza, beer, pizza, untouched spots, pizza, incredible friends, and pizza though.
